How to use the FLEX module for remote control

The FLEX radio module can be used as a wireless sensor node transmitting sensor values (like temperature, humidity and alarm triggers) but it can also be used as a remote control device to for wireless automation. For example you may want to switch a light on/off based on some other event, like a door opening or motion being sensed. The FLEX module has 5 IO pins that can be connected to external circuits and independently controlled. In the video below you can see the FLEX module turning LED lights on/off based on wireless messages from a controller (e.g. Raspberry Pi and wireless base station).

In this tutorial we show you how to build the circuitry for remote automation with the FLEX module. We have also documented how to control the FLEX module using PrivateEyePI rules.
